There are a couple of signs that the long dreaded await of another season is about to be over is when the NBA starts by having a frenzy off-season and the schedule comes out! Yeah! Now I’m excited. The schedule of course is highlighted by the holiday games, most specifically the fact that Kobe and Shaq will face each other again, the fourth time in five years since their last Laker title, on Christmas. I think that this game will be very good. A little bit of history, mix in the fact that LeBron will want to show up for this game, and it’s on Christmas, where most people will be snugged up watching TV, this game I think will get pretty good ratings. I’m really excited by that one. And don’t forget there are 4 other games on Christmas. It’s like the NBA is giving the people gifts! The Warriors open up the new season at home on October 28 against the newly looked Houston Rockets. Those who wanted to see Yao, will not, since he is most likey done for the season and McGrady might still be injured. Though the highlight of that game will probably be newly acquired Trevor Ariza.
Finally, deals are being finalized and players are either finding new homes or staying in a familiar town. I’m really excited for the season to start, especially after all the wheeling and dealing this summer. A newly looked East is sure to dominate the headlines for a few weeks, especially if they play the powerhouses of the West. I can’t wait till Oct 27th!!!!
