The main problem with acquiring Timofey Mozgov is that he is a restricted free agent (RFA), meaning his current team (Denver Nuggets) can match any offer the Warriors make.  Mozgov isn’t worth much, so Denver might be willing to match anything the Warriors can afford to offer.

Mozgov has been a reserve for most of his career, so he hasn’t had any impressive seasons.  The most impressive thing about him is his 7’1” frame.  The most important thing in the eyes of the Warriors is size; anyone that can clog the paint is a candidate.

Mozgov’s most impressive stat line comes from when he played for the New York Knicks: 23 points and 14 rebounds.  One game doesn’t mean anything, but Mozgov is only 26 years old.  The Warriors may be willing to take a chance on him.
