Warriors Visit Thunder on a Friday Night: Game Preview

The last time the Golden State Warriors (9-7) and Oklahoma City Thunder (10-3) played, it made for one of the most entertaining games of the NBA season thus far. On Friday night, these two teams will match up again, this time in Oklahoma City.

Reliving the Game of the Year

Here’s a little snippet from our recap of the Warriors-Thunder game on Nov. 14:

The Warriors (6-3) had led by as many as 14 points in the fourth quarter, only to allow the Thunder (5-3) to mount a comeback and take the lead with 2.3 seconds remaining on a Russell Westbrook deep 3-pointer from 29 feet.

But that only set things up for Iguodala’s “welcome to the Bay Area” moment. Iguodala took the inbounds pass from Klay Thompson, turned, and nailed a high-arching shot from the right baseline over Thabo Sefolosha as time expired.

But tonight, the Warriors will not have Andre Iguodala, who is out with a left hamstring strain.

Opposite Directions

Since that Warriors win two weeks ago, these two teams have gone in opposite directions. The Thunder have not lost since, and are winners of six in a row. Meanwhile, the Warriors are scuffling, dropping four of their last five and inching dangerously back toward .500 as they play the second to last game of a four-game road trip.
