Andre Iguodala, David Lee To Miss Team USA Training With Injuries

The Golden State Warriors originally had four members of their starting lineup set to participate in training for Team USA, but now it’s down to just two.

Andre Iguodala and David Lee, who are both recovering from injuries, will not be able to take part in the training as Team USA gets ready for the FIBA World Cup in Spain later this summer.

Iguodala, who dealt with tendinitis in his knee throughout last season, received an injection recently and will take some time off to recover. Lee, meanwhile, had surgery done to repair a core muscle in his pelvic area, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Both cases are considered minor and Iguodala and Lee are expected to be back on the court shortly.

“He should be on the floor in our practice facility before too long,” head coach Steve Kerr said of Iguodala, via the Bay Area News Group. “I can’t put a date on it, but the medical staff has told me no problems in terms of being ready for (Warriors training) camp.”

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will be among the 19 participants in Team USA training, but it remains to be seen whether they will be among the 12 players on the final roster when the team heads to Spain.
