8 Christmas Gifts for the Golden State Warriors and their Fans

It’s almost Christmas, so we take a look at some of the gifts the Warriors have received this season.
It’s safe to assume that the Golden State Warriors have been on Santa’s “nice” list this year, so they should be on the receiving end of some very important gifts. Let’s take a look at some of the gifts that the Warriors have received this season, and truly get into the Christmas cheer.
Wins
27 of them to be exact. This is the simplest yet also most important gift the Warriors have given fans of late. Bucks fans might have arguably had their Christmas a few weeks ago when they handed the Warriors their lone defeat. But that lost notwithstanding the Warriors have given fans the gift of winning. Oh yeah and they won the championship last season.
Draymond Green’s Mom
Warriors power forward Draymond Green’s mom came out this week and said she has been trash talking her son since the future all-star was a child. The Warriors took Draymond Green in the second round in the draft a few years back and since then he has sprouted into one of the best forwards in the NBA. We can thank Draymond’s mother for his conception though.
Stephen Curry’s Foot Locker Greatness
Stephen Curry might be the best pro in the league. But these kids still don’t want to play with him. This ad is a gift.
Warriors, Come Out to Play
The stellar play of the Warriors means they not only are must-watch, but also must-follow via social media. Even clips related to Warriors in other contexts have seen increased publicity as well.
This clip from the Warriors has seen almost a 200% increase in viewership in the past year. I think it’s safe to say there is a correlation between the Dubs success and the publicity of this clip.
Chinese Jerseys
During Linsanity, the Knicks made t-shirts with Jeremy Lin’s Chinese name on the back. But they didn’t finish the job. They didn’t make a jersey. Last Chinese New Year, the Warriors became the first team to make Chinese New Year jerseys. That is a true gift to fans, especially fans in the Bay Area.

While the Klay Thompson 37 point barrage occurred last season, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson have both continued right from where they left off last year. Curry and Thompson both are near the top of the league in highest scoring quarters this season.
Festus Ezeli’s Improvement
Here is a true on the court gift for the Warriors: Festus Ezeli. Ezeli was largely an afterthought for the beginning of his career. But this season Ezeli is having a career year. His 9 points and 7 rebounds are both career highs. His 20 minutes per game is also a career high as well. But those numbers don’t even do Ezeli his proper justice. He is a top ten rim protector in the NBA via NBA.com/stats and is playing the Warriors’ center minutes in crunch time. He has largely supplanted Andrew Bogut as the Warriors best center. And reigning him this summer is a top priority for the Warriors this offseason.
