Golden State Warriors Blow Out Chicago Bulls

Playing another top Eastern Conference team, the Golden State Warriors blew out the Chicago Bulls 125-94 on the road.

The Warriors got off to a slow start in the first quarter, missing their first five shots. Derrick Rose led the way for Chicago, scoring 10 points on 5/6 shooting. Stephen Curry matched Rose with 10 points and also dished out 6 assists. The Warriors attacked the paint, outscoring Chicago there 16-6 in the opening period. Despite missing early, thee Warriors won the quarter 34-18.

Luke Walton went deep into his bench, playing Marreese Speights and Brandon Rush. Shaun Livingston provided a boost for Golden State, adding six points and three assists. He and Aaron Brooks were both assessed off-setting technical fouls after jawing back and forth for several possessions. Later in the quarter, despite having a strong half with six points, eight rebounds, and one block, Andrew Bogut left the quarter early after showing that he was in pain. Warriors would win the quarter 29-26.

Warriors fans would be relieved to see that Bogut started the quarter. The two stories of the quarter were Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler. Green exited with around 9 minutes after catching Taj Gibson‘s hand to the face. He tried to return to the bench, but he went to the locker room. He would return later. Butler only had 4 had the end of the half and used some early second half free throws to get himself going, scoring 15 in the quarter. The Warriors played with high-intensity towards the end of the quarter, featuring some high-light plays including a Leandro Barbosa to Andre Iguodala alley-oop and a Curry lefty dunk. Golden State won the quarter 24-19.

The Warriors were able to keep the Bulls at bay, maintaining a 15 point lead throughout the quarter. Green returned to the floor for Golden State, making some big plays that put the Bulls to bed. The two benches played the final minutes of the game once it was out of hand.  The Warriors won the fourth quarter as well, 38-31.

Curry finished with 25 points, 11 assists, and 7 rebounds. In a matchup of two top shooting guards, Klay Thompson and Butler scored 20 and 23 points respectively. Green was assessed his 11th technical foul of the season, 5 away from receiving a suspension.
