The Golden State Warriors made history by winning their 73rd game of the season. Here are the best quotes.

The Golden State Warriors have taken the history books and re-written them.

They now stand alone, above the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls, as the greatest team of all-time as they defeated the Memphis Grizzlies for their 73rd win of the season. It was an incredible night, one that no one will ever forget.

Draymond Green was very open throughout the season about wanting to get the record. He rallied the team, keeping them focused and on track to build something great. It’s hard to put into words just how special this season and this record is. Green summed it up pretty well from his perspective.

Green knows what the talk that surrounded this team all offseason going into this year was. Now that the regular has ended exactly how he wanted it to, Green can have a little fun.

Throughout the season, retired players everywhere talked about how their team would destroy these Warriors. Golden State was a product of a watered-down league where they benefit from going against weak, skilled players instead of football players on a basketball court. It became comical how how ridiculous these retired players were whining.

Andrew Bogut, who’s not afraid of throwing a jab or two, mocked those naysayers.

I’m not really sure how to preface this Bogut quote. But it’s relevant. And necessary. So here it is.

Klay Thompson also described how incredible this season was for him.

Former NBA Commissioner David Stern had Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and Michael Jordan to help him expand basketball. Now, Adam Silver has these Golden State Warriors to help make his mark as a leader in helping the game transform into what it is now.

Head coach Steve Kerr was also a member of that historic Bulls team so he knows just how ridiculous it is to get to this point in the season. Per ESPN’s Ethan Strauss:

"As Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after the game, “I’d never in a million years would have guessed that that record would ever be broken. I thought it was like [Joe] DiMaggio’s hit streak, really, and I was wrong"

“Strength in Numbers” was the team’s official motto last season. But the fans and team seemed to rally around Leandro Barbosa who, in the middle of the season, told Rosalyn Gold-Onwude that “we gonna be championship.” Well, the Brazilian Blur is back at it again and ready for the postseason.

The playoffs start on Saturday at 12:30.
