Golden State Warriors: The Jazz will provide perfect test
The Golden State Warriors will face one of the best defenses in the NBA in the Western Conference Semifinals.
At long last, the Golden State Warriors finally have an opponent for the Western Conference Semifinals. On Sunday, the Utah Jazz put together one of their most impressive performances yet and went on the road and dismantled the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 7. Now, the Jazz will face the Warriors on Tuesday night, in Oakland.

These two teams are no strangers to each other, as they faced off in the 2007 Western Conference Semifinals. Now, they’ll meet again and this time it’s Golden State that is coming into the series as the heavy favorite. Still, the Warriors can’t take Utah lightly, as they will provide them one of their best tests yet.
Utah comes into the series as one of the top defensive teams in the league thanks to Rudy Gobert anchoring the paint and their incredible wing play. They love to get their arms up out on the perimeter and stifle the passing lanes.
The Warriors have had issues this season with turnovers and getting sloppy. This is where the Jazz are going to try and make their mark in the series and hope they can gain the advantage. Golden State on the other hand is going to have to get out in transition and make sure they take advantage of their open looks.

While Golden State had the advantage of rest, they will now arguably have their first series where things grind to a halt. This game is going to slow down and the Jazz are going to look to dictate the tempo of it. It’s important the Warriors control the aspect.
JaVale McGee could very well see more playing time in a series like this and getting the likes of Shaun Livingston and Matt Barnes back should be a huge plus. This series will provide a test and should make the Warriors all the better for it.
