Kevin Durant showed up to JaVale McGee’s #JUGLIFE Celebrity Softball Game sporting a hat with a logo depicting the Golden State Warriors championship ring on top of a cupcake.

OAKLAND, Calif.Kevin Durant has been called a number of negative things following his move to the Golden State Warriors. He’s been called a snake. He’s been called a traitor. The Daily Oklahoman infamously named him “Mr. Unreliable.

And by far the corniest nickname he’s ever received from haters? Cupcake.

But if you thought Durant didn’t care about how much you hated him before he won his first ring, then you should know that NBA champion Kevin Durant could not care less about how you feel about him, the way he plays, the people with whom he associates, where he spends his time, and the circumstances surround how he earned his first NBA title.

He doubled down on that notion on Saturday when he showed up to JaVale McGee‘s #JUGLIFE Celebrity Softball Game wearing a hat with a logo depicting the Warriors championship ring on top of — you guessed it — a cupcake.

For Warriors fans, it was hilarious gesture to rally around. For the haters, Durant’s cupcake hat was just more salt in the wound.

After the game, teammate Draymond Green commented on KD’s headwear during the postgame media conference, saying that this was the official unveiling of the cupcake champion hat, and that Durant has actually had it for a while now.

"“I think that’s everyone else’s first time seeing that, but he’s had a few of them for quite a while now so,” Green said. “It’s pretty funny though.”"

Since winning his first NBA title, Durant has been pretty active on social media, continually putting trolls in their place. Haters that brave the highly unadvised adventure into Kevin Durant’s mentions expecting to strike a nerve with the reigning Finals MVP are met with some hilarious responses.

One of my favorite exchanges was with the following Oklahoma City Thunder fan, who continually tried to slander Durant with homophobic accusations that implied he was sexually involved with Draymond:

Durant is on top of the world. Why haters continue to send hateful messages to a future NBA Hall of Famer completely eludes me. And as much as I respect Durant for taking the time out of his busy schedule to respond to fans, it’d be smart to understand that Durant has no need to respond at all.

Yet he responds against his better judgement. Because he doesn’t care about your hate. He has absolutely no regard for you feelings if you try to come at him the wrong way. And by wearing that cupcake hat to JaVale McGee’s #JUGLIFE Celebrity Softball Game, Kevin Durant silenced the trolls and put all the haters to shame.
