It wasn’t much, but the Golden State Warriors superstar forward Kevin Durant did talk about his upcoming free agency and the 2019 trade deadline during ASW.

Kevin Durant has been harassed by reporters about what comes next for the four-time scoring champion. He’s going to be a free agent following the 2018-2019 season and will likely not be offered a max from the Golden State Warriors.

While Durant has taken pay cuts in the past, could this time be different as teammate Klay Thompson will likely force Golden State to offer him a max? Well, Durant has stayed relatively quiet about his future free agency.

During All-Star weekend, he gave us a bit of what’s going through his mind. However, he spoke on more than just his free agency.

Per Express, Durant didn’t lose any sleep at the NBA’s chaotic 2019 trade deadline.

"“I have no concerns about trades or transactions throughout the season with other teams. Has nothing to do with me…. I’m glad Porzingis is in a better spot for him. I look forward to Luka [Doncic] and him playing together for years to come.”"

Later on, Durant went more into what the future holds saying.

"“That’s on them,” he said. “I’ll figure it out once we get to that point.”"

That’s it. “I’ll figure it out” is all we get. However, what it does say is that the superstar hasn’t figured out what he wants to do. He’s waiting till the end of the season to make his announcement.

For Warrior fans, that should be comforting.

The way I interpreted it is that if the Warriors three-peat Durant will stay. If they don’t, he may be on his way out. If he hasn’t made a decision, he clearly wants to see how the season plays out.

It seems unlikely that Durant wouldn’t express at least a small amount of interest in New York if he planned to head there. It also seems like more might have been leaked and more altercations might have gone down if there was even a concern about his exodus.

That said, Durant is having a career year in his third season in the Bay. Averaging 27.6 points per game to go along with a career-high 5.9 assists per game, Durant is thriving as he becomes even more comfortable with his superstar teammates.

If the three-peat is completed, is Durant guaranteed to be re-signing?
