6 realistic D’Angelo Russell trades the Golden State Warriors should keep on their radar

The Golden State Warriors won’t want to trade D’Angelo Russell, but what if they could secure these realistic hauls back in return?

Obviously, the last and worst-case scenario would be to trade D’Angelo Russell. The Golden State Warriors, who brought him in off a sign-and-trade for Kevin Durant, view him as the future of the team.

The 23-year-old averaged 21.1 points per game last season, securing his first All-Star appearance. After being given up on by the Lakers, Russell showed maturity turning that unbelief into dominance.

His maturity is one thing the Warriors have loved about him, but will that translate to unselfishness on the court? Russell’s yet to play with an elite NBA star in his four seasons in the league.

That said, we don’t know how the fit with Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and eventually Klay Thompson will look like. While many aren’t concerned, there should be some level of worry about Russell’s fit.

Steph seamlessly fit Durant into the Warriors system. However, Durant was already a four-time scoring champion and former MVP who elevated parts of his game among arriving in the Bay. Will Russell do similarly and elevate his all-around playmaking?

If things take a turn for the worst and the Warriors aren’t on track to make the playoffs in a highly competitive West, they may turn to the market for help. That said, let’s dive into six realistic trade options they should explore involving Russell.
