Everyone’s Talking, No One’s Walking

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA, Warriors | COMMENTS: None Yet

Now that the meeting in NY didn’t amount to anything, pre-season if officially cancelled, while training camp is just postponed. Now on the table, will the regular season suffer the same fate? A deal will have to struck by mid-October before any real games get cancelled. Has anyone panicked? Well, besides the fans, I doubt both sides are panicking. Both sides seem strong headed and ok with waiting the season out. Some players, mostly the aged ones, are prepared to miss a season so that the future can have the same benefits that they were able to enjoy from the [...]

Number 30: Curry’s Ankle Can Heal

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA, Stephen Curry, Warriors | COMMENTS: None Yet

One positive spin this morning on the NBA lockout is that Steph Curry’s ankle is healing. And with the likeliness that the season will not start on time, at least a push back of training camp, Curry has a little more time to heal that ankle of his. Remember last season? I was adamant that the Warriors needed some backups…in every position. But with a team that is riddled with injuries and lack of depth, Curry had to play with a bum ankle. Have you ever played with a bum ankle? It’s downright painful. Not because of the physical pain, [...]

Where Do We Go From Here?

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA, Warriors | COMMENTS: None Yet

Today marks the 73rd day that the lockout has been in place. It has been a relatively easy 73 days cause it’s not basketball season. With international basketball taking center stage, the lost season has been on the back burner for a bit. But now with training camp around the corner, the panic meter in getting a deal done has certainly gone from a zero to an 8.5. This morning, Ric Bucher from ESPN, reports that the league owes about $190 million in escrow to all players that were on a NBA roster. Some players, whose salary were much higher [...]

Coach Nelson Is Out!

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA, Stephen Curry, Warriors | COMMENTS: None Yet

It’s official. Word on the street that new owner, Joe Lacob, bought out Nellie in his contract for about $6 million. Nellie will happily fly back to Hawaii and live out the rest of his life in retirement. Assistant coach, Keith Smart, will take over his job. Clearly, new ownership wanted the Warriors to play a different type of basketball and this was the first step. Warriors can finally have a real coach that will actually coach them. Granted Nellie is the winningest coach in the league, recently passing Lenny Wilkens, but his record for coaching the Warriors have been [...]

Game 1= Close Loss

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA, Stephen Curry, Warriors | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Rockets looked terrible and the Warriors looked no better. It’s almost like we wanted to lose when both superstars of the Rockets are out!  They played ok, not great, but ok.  Who impressed me the most? Of course our young rookie, Stephen Curry! First, him being named starting PG, that almost seemed like it was the match to start another fire with Monte Ellis. But no news is good news, and unless they had some issues internally that were never  shown to the public, Ellis, seems to take it all in stride. The rookie had a very good showing. [...]

Past The Point Of No Return

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA, Warriors | COMMENTS: None Yet

It really can’t get any better than this. The leaves are changing, the weather is slightly colder but comfortable and the NBA has already started pre-season, meaning the season is about to get under way! Then why does turmoil surround the Bay Area? What did we do to deserve such atrocity from one player?!?!? Another wrinkle, and now Stephen Jackson has relinquished his Captain title. No more Captain Jack. And I can’t say that I’m surprised or upset really. I didn’t think he was a leader when he was given this honor nor do I think he is one now.  Jackson is [...]

Turmoil

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA, Stephen Curry, Warriors | COMMENTS: None Yet

Another day and still the same old conflict that is tearing up this franchise. It’s amazing that we are only 2 years removed when the Warriors erased a 13 year playoff drought and things started to look bright for this franchise. Then, two years later and the team is in disarray. Stephen Jackson was suspended two pre-season games for his outburst the other night towards Nellie. Onlookers describe the scene to be not pleasant and it was clear that Jackson was agitated with something. He picked five fouls and a tech in only a matter of ten minutes. The outburst, [...]

Storms Are Circling

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA, Stephen Curry, Warriors | COMMENTS: None Yet

A few weeks ago, Stephen Jackson was in NY to help his Al Harrington out. He made some comments that obviously hurt the Warriors fans, and everyone from the management to fans, believed he was, “Jack being Jack. Flash Forward and you know that the NBA season is about to start when teams are attending their own Media Day. Although he was fined by the NBA, using the media as an outlet to demand a trade, reporters still insist on him clarifying what he said in New York. Although they don’t receive a solid yes or no answer, it’s clear [...]

The New Drug of Today

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Word on the street is that Michael Beasley has checked into a rehab facility in Houston after his breakdown, all captured on Twitter. After taking a new picture of his new tattoo, postings of two small baggies in the back, made their way to be the center of the Twitter posts instead of his tat. Beasley responded to these posts and soon his Twitter account was shut down, again. This is the second time his account has gone down. Beasley’s maturity has always been a concern. During the NBA Rookie camps, Beasley had supposedly slipped out of the room as [...]
