Mitchell is not a shooter in any sense of the word, having taken just one shot from beyond the arc in his career
Mitchell is simply another big body in camp. And a big body he is. He is listed as 6’8″ and 235 lbs., and plays power forward. Mitchell, from the University of North Texas — that one school Alabama whoops in football every year — appeared in 21 games with the Pistons in 2013. He played most of the season last year in Puerto Rico.
The Warriors frontcourt is pretty crowded, with Marreese Speights, Festus Ezeli, and James Michael McAdoo all waiting in the wings behind Draymond Green and Andrew Bogut, not to mention Brandon Rush, who says he is ready for an increased role this year. It is very unlikely that Mitchell will make the roster this year, simply because the Warriors only have one spot left, and will almost certainly use it on a shooter. But he might fit in Santa Cruz with the Santa Cruz Warriors.
