Potential NBA Finals preview: Golden State Warriors versus Boston Celtics
Here is a game preview for the matchup between the Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors.
In what could be a potential NBA Finals preview, the Golden State Warriors are set to take on the Boston Celtics. While both teams were projected to coast through their conferences this season, let’s see how each squad has stacked up through the first 60 games of the year.
The Warriors had a few speed bumps earlier in the season but have since been on fire. Behind Stephen Curry‘s 28.4 points per game, the Warriors have won 44 games and are first in the Western Conference.
The successful return of DeMarcus Cousins has boosted the Dubs to levels that they have never seen before. There have obviously been some growing pains, but the Warriors have a 9-1 record when Cousins scores 15+ points. Meaning, this team is nearly unbeatable when Cousins is clicking.
In contrast, the Celtics are on the verge of falling apart. This team was expected by many to be a force in the Eastern Conference. Following a surprising playoff run in which they finished only one game away from reaching the NBA Finals, the Celtics looked destined for a dominant season.
Instead, what we have seen so far is a mess of inconsistency and bad team chemistry. The body language on the court has been poor. It honestly appears that these guys don’t even like playing together.
Still, the Celtics boast one of the most talented rosters in the league and believe they can beat any team when playing at full strength. With a 38-26 record, things might not be as good as they should be, but it certainly isn’t bad either.
The Celtics and Warriors have only played one other time this season. Their meeting came in late January and saw the Warriors emerging victorious with a finals score of 115-111. This game showed that the Celtics are capable of being competitive when they are playing at their best.
This will be the last chance we get to see these two teams play each other before the playoffs begin. Hopefully, we will get an entertaining show that will have us all eager for more.
