Golden State Warriors: 10 last-second NBA Draft trade targets
By Tony Pesta
7. Jrue Holiday
Similar to Dennis Schroder, Jrue Holiday can act as the replacement for Stephen Curry that the Golden State Warriors might need. Curry is far from being out of his prime – but reducing his usage to prolong his career should be a point of emphasis for the Dubs. Acquiring a player like Holiday can help benefit Curry in the long run.
Holiday is a top-tier defender on the perimeter. His quick feet and muscular frame have helped the former All-Star earn two spots on the NBA’s All-Defensive teams. Holiday can defend opposing guards and has the strength to fend off some bigger players as well.
On offense, Holiday is capable of doing it all. He can attack the rim, shoot from deep and create plays for others. He has been in the league long enough to play under control and will be a consistent presence for the Warriors if they choose to target him.
Having Holiday will not only allow Curry to sit without being worried about giving up leads – but also give the Warriors a trustworthy decision-maker to potentially close out games with the death lineup.
