3 Reasons Golden State Warriors aren’t as bad as they look
By Tony Pesta
1. Schedule gets easier
The start of the season has been brutal, to say the least. Opening night against the Brooklyn Nets could have gone well if it wasn’t for the fact that Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant are flamethrowers that have set the league ablaze thus far.
Christmas Day was, about what you would have expected. Khris Middleton torched the poor perimeter defense from the Dubs and Giannis Antetokounmpo’s impact was felt on both ends of the floor.
As for their match with the Portland Trail Blazers, it was the same story we’ve seen all season long. The Dubs perimeter defense is more vulnerable than ever without Klay Thompson and CJ McCollum began the game white-hot from the field.
Thankfully, the Warriors schedule gets easier soon. That is, after an even more brutal stretch in January. If they make it through with minimal damage, they can repair themselves with a string of games against weaker opponents.
February could be huge for the Warriors. By this point, they will have had a full month of playing together to build chemistry and a few wins against lottery teams can help them build confidence to enter the second half of the season strong.
