Golden State Warriors should sign Cousins – They need more size

We’ve touched on all of the injuries DeMarcus Cousins has suffered through the years, but the Golden State Warriors are dealing with an injury bug themselves this season.

It all began when Marquese Chriss fractured his leg in late December. The small-ball center had a career-high year in Golden State, averaging 9.3 points and 6.2 rebounds. He was set to be a key rotational player before falling to the sideline for the remainder of the season.

Next, James Wiseman sprained his wrist. The No. 2 overall pick was hitting his stride on the bench, posting the best game of his young career against Minnesota with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks. He has been on the bench since January but could return on Tuesday against the New York Knicks.

The same goes for Kevon Looney, who sprained his ankle around the same time as Wiseman. He is hopeful to play on Tuesday and finally alleviate the Dubs’ need for a big man. They’ve been playing without a traditional center for weeks.

Though they are on the verge of being healthy again, the Warriors clearly need depth in the frontcourt. Having Cousins as a rotational player would help bring size back to the Dubs’ lineup. At 6’11” and 270 pounds, Cousins would be one of the biggest guys on the roster.
