We’ve been wondering all season long if the Golden State Warriors will make any moves before the deadline. While it’s always possible they swing big and monitor the trading block, it’s more reasonable they get active on the waiver wire and pursue buyout candidates like DeMarcus Cousins.

Cousins recently had his contract fully guaranteed by the Houston Rockets – only for the franchise to announce they will be cutting him soon. This was a classy move from Houston who decided to do right by Cousins before potentially ending his season. Although he’s a former All-Star who can help many teams, Shams Charania has pointed out that the market will be thin for Cousins.

This is because of rampant injuries that have derailed the big man’s career. He has suffered a ruptured Achilles and torn ACL in recent years. Both of these injuries typically mark the end of a center’s time in the NBA, but Cousins has prevailed.

The Golden State Warriors have every reason to pursue DeMarcus Cousins after he is bought out by the Houston Rockets.

While the Rockets look forward to their rebuild centered around Christian Wood, the Warriors can capitalize by picking up their scraps. Cousins is a good fit in Golden State and today we will look at three reasons why he should return to the Dubs.
