2021 NBA Draft Mock: Golden State Warriors land two picks
By Tony Pesta
Golden State Warriors
With so many coveted prospects in this draft, there’s a good chance someone such as Jalen Suggs falls all the way to the fifth spot – leaving a chance for a team like the Golden State Warriors to capitalize on this steal.
The Warriors have made it obvious that they are looking for additional ball handlers to play next to Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. This was indicated when they expressed interest in trading for Victor Oladipo – and by the fact that Curry has been harassed all season long as the only consistent offensive threat on the roster.
While yes, Thompson will alleviate some of these problems next season, drafting Suggs will help even more. Suggs is an electric athlete and scorer, posting 14.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists at Gonzaga. His team is 26-0 and they’ve won a historic 23 straight games by double-digits.
The experience Suggs has on a winning team will only further benefit the Warriors, who will be looking to compete for a title ASAP. Suggs is the perfect selection for them to round out the top-five of this draft.
