Oubre is the only player that it makes sense to trade.

I hope this statement ages well, but I have not heard or read anywhere that Steph or Dray feels like the team needs trade for help.  In a year when nothing is going to happen that makes us a championship contender the focus should squarely be on the future.

At this point, Kelly Oubre Jr. is the only player that makes sense to trade.  With his contract expiring at the end of the year and the fact that his play, although inconsistent, has probably priced him out.

If we can acquire draft capital for him, so we don’t lose him in free agency and walk away with nothing.

The core is getting older and more expensive.  Since Jerry West left we have not had the best drafts, but to keep the core together taking some haymakers in the draft is really the only logical route.
