Golden State Warriors with fourth-best odds to win 2022 NBA Championship

There’s no denying the path to a championship won’t be an easy one for the Golden State Warriors, but it’s one they’ll look to go down this season, hopefully rejuvenating their roster with experienced veterans and young, high-ceiling prospects.

This offseason, the Golden State Warriors added three veterans and two rookies. They drafted Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody with their two lottery picks, respectively the 7th and 14th player taken in the 2021 NBA Draft.

The Golden State Warriors improved tremendously this offseason, but are their odds to win the 2022 NBA Championship actually worth a look?

In terms of the veterans, they brought in sniper Otto Porter Jr., former Warrior legend Andre Iguodala and big man Nemanja Bjelica. All three are expected to have a role in Steve Kerr’s rotation.

On top of those five, the Warriors have two-time MVP and the NBA’s scoring leader a season ago, Stephen Curry. He’ll be the undisputed captain and the reason they eventually go as far as they do.

The real question mark will be if five-time All-Star guard Klay Thompson can get back to 100 percent, having not played since the 2019 NBA Finals. On top of all that, the Warriors will have three-time All-Star Draymond Green and former No. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins.

Combine it all, and the Warriors are being given the fourth-best title odds for this upcoming season.

Per WynnBet, the Warriors are currently sitting at +1000, which means a $100 bet would net $1,000 return for a total payout of $1,100. The Nets are sitting at +235 with the Lakers at +375 and the Bucks at +900.

It’s actually pretty remarkable that the odds are that high for Golden State. Albeit they do have Curry, being in front of teams like Philadelphia, Utah and Phoenix is a bit shocking. Nonetheless, the reasons for hope within the organization are there.

The Warriors and Bucks are really separated from the top two though. The odds for the Nets are one unit for about two and a third back. If you’re confident in Kevin Durant, it may look enticing, but unforeseeable injuries always make these relatively risky.

That said, Golden State does have good odds, but I’d consider this a play to stay away from.
