On this Thanksgiving Day, it is time for fans to accept that this is no longer a fluke. The Golden State Warriors are back at the top of the NBA food chain.

It has been years since the Warriors were a title contender, let alone a consistent playoff team. Gone are the days of watching borderline G-League players fill the rotation each night. Now, Golden State is riding the wave of numerous breakout seasons and a resurgence of its star core.

The Golden State Warriors have done enough to show their hot start to the season is going to last them for the year and we are thankful.

Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are leading the renaissance. The two-time MVP is surging to 28.2 points, 6.8 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game on 41.8 percent shooting from the 3-point line.

LIkewise, Green is dominating in his domain. It is because of Green that the Warriors have the best defense in the NBA and his commitment to scoring at a higher rate this season has paid dividends.

On the horizon, Klay Thompson is approaching his return to basketball. The Splash Brothers reuniting is another reason to be thankful for this glorious season. Thompson has not played in a professional game since 2019 but has been cleared for full participation in practice.

When you combine this level of star power with supporting players like Jordan Poole, Andrew Wiggins, Nemanja Bjelica, Gary Payton II and Damion Lee — all of which are having arguably the best seasons of their careers — you get a pretty well-rounded squad.

With a 16-2 record, Golden State is building a lead over the rest of the league. Next in the standings are the Phoenix Suns who have won 14 straight to contend with the Warriors for the top-seed.

While the rest of the season is sure to bring new twists and turns, this is a great time for fans of beautiful basketball to simply appreciate the return of one of the greatest teams in league history.
