Golden State Warriors can target Thaddeus Young

Thaddeus Young has long been an underrated two-way wing and he could be a hot item on the trade market this season.

Cost: Medium-High

Young is averaging a career-low 7.6 points due to his restricted role on a rebuilding San Antonio Spurs team. Seeing as how the Spurs are not very committed to the 32-year-old forward, the asking price should not be too high.

Yet, Young is a valuable contributor and a few teams will be asking about him at the deadline. For this reason, the cost is going to be a bit higher than usual.

Benefit: Medium

What does Young bring to the Warriors?

He fits their system like a glove. He’s a lanky forward who can pass, shoot and defend. Young averaged a career-best 4.3 assists last year and is a career 33.1 percent 3-point shooter. Slotting him into the lineup would be effortless and he’s a hard-nosed defender to match their identity.

Similar to Favors, Young is on an unfavorable deal. He is set to make $14 million this year before becoming a free agent. For this reason, Young might be off the Warriors’ radar, as well.

Verdict: Probably not worth it
