The Golden State Warriors used a monster third quarter to defeat the Los Angeles Clippers for the 10th straight time on Thursday night.

In what has become a trend, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Los Angeles Clippers for the 10th straight time on Thursday night. It was also another route of the Clippers and a reminder of the mental edge the team holds over Los Angeles. However, this wasn’t the typical route one would expect from this rivalry.

In all fairness to the Los Angeles Clippers, they made the Warriors work for the first half and the Warriors came out playing like they were still on the break. The first quarter had some nice flow to it but the second quarter woes came back and the team went into the half down 12 and looking absolutely disinterested in the game.

Los Angeles was forcing the Warriors to take shots that were ill advised. Then in true Warriors fashion, they did something to make everyone lose their minds. They came out lights out in the third quarter and dropped 50 points.

Both Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry were on fire from beyond the arc. The duo dropped a combined 10-16 shooting from three and the offense just took off in incredible fashion while the defensive energy picked in.

They cut off some of the easy shots that the Clippers were getting in the first half. They did a great job of limiting Blake Griffin inside and Draymond Green worked passionately down low. In fact, Green was so fired up that he received a technical and even yelled at head coach Steve Kerr a little bit.

He would have to be held back during the Warriors’ surge but his competitive side got the best of him once again. The good news was there was just no stopping what Curry and Durant were doing shooting the ball.

The Clippers played like a team that did not want to lose 10 straight games. They brought the fight and they made sure to get Golden State off their game in the second quarter while the struggled. However, the Warriors scoring more points in the third than the entire first half is something most teams would fall to.
