Santa Cruz Warriors: Phil Pressey Records Triple-Double in Win @ Sioux Falls
Santa Cruz Warriors defeat Sioux Falls Skyforce 115-98 on Wednesday at the Sanford Pentagon in South Dakota.
The Santa Cruz Warriors (21-17) defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce (23-17) on Wednesday night at the Sanford Pentagon in South Dakota, winning the game 115-98. Santa Cruz gets one step closer to earning the fourth and final playoff spot in the NBA D-League Western Conference with this win over the Skyforce, who currently have a 1-game lead over the Warriors in the standings.
Santa Cruz will host the Reno Bighorns at Kaiser Permanente Arena on Saturday, March 4 at 7:00 p.m. PST. Many may recall that Santa Cruz just recently suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Bighorns last Friday at the Golden 1 Center, home of Reno’s parent club, the Sacramento Kings.
Fans going to the game will be part of Santa Cruz’s 3rd annual “Pajama Night.” Fans are encouraged to both wear their favorite pajamas to the game and to bring a new pair of pajamas to donate to local non-profit, Project Pajamas. Fans unable to catch the game in Surf City will be able to livestream the game via Facebook Live.
Phil Pressey proved why he remains one of the top players in the D-League by notching his third triple-double of the season Wednesday night, finishing with 21 points (7-15 FG), 15 rebounds, and a franchise-record 19 assists.
James Southerland posted a double-double, tallying 26 points (10-20 FG, 6-13 3P) and 11 rebounds to go with his three blocks. LaDontae Henton also had a double-double, recording 14 points (6-12 FG) and 11 rebounds.

Former Golden State Warriors player Keith Benson paced the Skyforce with 26 points (11-17 FG) and 13 rebounds. Bubu Palo had 16 points (6-14 FG) and 11 assists off the bench, while Henry Walker had 18 points (6-13 FG), seven rebounds, and three assists off the bench. Malik Beasley added 13 points (5-13), seven rebounds and three assists.
