The Golden State Warriors are the league’s best team, and even without Kevin Durant, they’ve proven their dominance on the NBA’s biggest stage.

Since Kevin Durant went down in Game 5, the Golden State Warriors not only won that game but defeated the Houston Rockets, ending the series in Game 6. Then, they furthered their winning streak, taking down the Trail Blazers in the series’ first three games.

The Warriors have won last four games by 5, 22, 3 and 11. The five-point victory was against the Houston Rockets with their back against the wall. The three-point victory included a 17-point comeback. Even the 11-point dub was a result of a double-digit comeback.

This team gets hit. They can get hit hard. They were a three-pointer away from being down 20 at home in Game 2. With the resilience and perseverance of a team that lost just nine games a few seasons ago, they fought back, played their game and came out victorious.

That said, with Durant, the Warriors were 6-4, not including Game 5. There no denying that Durant is a top-three player in the league. There’s not even a chance that the Warriors are better without Durant either.

But, if they need him to win the NBA Finals in 2019 is a completely different question. Some see the dominance of Milwaukee out in the East and question whether they can get it done without one of their pivotal leaders.

Can they? I think they can. Let’s get into three reasons why you should think that way as well.
