10. The Sellout Streak (Dec. 18, 2012 – Present)
What better place to start than with the fans?
The Warriors have arguably the best fanbase in the entire NBA, as these fans have stuck with the team through thick and thin, and are finally getting rewarded. Golden State has sold out its last 53 home games, a streak started on Dec. 18 of 2012, which means it has sold out every single game in 2013.
Sure, what ultimately matters is how the team performs on the court, but with fans as passionate as the crowd that fills Oracle Arena every night, it’s no secret why the Warriors are 11-4 at home this season. The players build off the energy from the crowd, which was on national display during the playoffs last season.
The above video was taken courtesy of yours truly during Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals against the Spurs. The crowd stood for most of the game, with chants of “Warriors, Warriors” echoing through the stadium. Apologies for the awkward size of the video, but it doesn’t take full-screen or high-def to recognize the ardor of these fans in Oakland.
