Turnovers Rear Their Ugly Head

Turnovers have always been an issue for the Golden State Warriors. It plagued them during the Mark Jackson years, and have continued to be a nagging problem this season. At their best, the Warriors’ flashy passes and up-tempo play turns them into the modern-day version of the Showtime Lakers.

But when those passes end up in the stands instead of in the players’ hands, the game gets ugly really quickly for the Warriors.

During the final 5:58 of the second quarter, the Warriors turned the ball over four times, which resulted in an 18-6 run in favour of the Rockets. The Dubs finished the game with 16 turnovers, which led to 24 points for the Rockets.

The game was a lot closer in the end than it needed to be, and had the Warriors lost, they only have themselves to blame. Turning the ball over to a Rockets’ offense that loves running the ball every chance they get (sound familiar?) is suicidal.

The Warriors need to be a lot better at taking care of the ball in Game Three.
