Unless you’ve been under a rock for the past few years, you know the NBA is now dominated by the point guard position.

The 90’s saw the age of the big men — Ewing, Barkley, Olajuwon, Robinson, Shaq — which awkwardly transitioned to the wing era of the early to mid 2000’s — Kobe, LeBron, McGrady, D-Wade, Pierce, Melo — which transitioned into this moment of time, the point guard golden age. With so many of the point guards young and able to do so many things point guards haven’t been able to do in the past (score consistently, play above the rim, etc.), the NBA looks like it’s in good hands heading into the future.

If you walk into a barber shop and ask, “Who’s the best point guard in the NBA?”, you will likely hear three names from the deep pool of talent: Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Los Angeles Clippers’ Chris Paul, and Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors. Each are the best at various skills point guards are required to have, which makes the debate all the more difficult.

So who is the NBA’s best point guard? Let’s take a look at each important skill and try to end this once and for all!
