Harrison Barnes – Yoshi
Depending on who you ask, everyone either hates or loves Yoshi. The same could be said for Harrison Barnes, a player that divides the Warriors’ fanbase. Some feel as though Barnes should be contributing more, while others value Barnes’ potential rather than current ability.
Yoshi’s introduction into the Mario World was meant as a companion on Mario’s journey. He was never meant to steal the limelight, but rather, work as a compliment and a marketing tool to attract the younger fanbase. He would assist Mario on his quest, and would pop in on occasion.
The same parallels could be drawn with Barnes. In his three seasons as a Warrior, Barnes hasn’t had to lead the franchise. His role on the team is to assist Curry and the starters by spreading the floor, cleaning up the boards, and working hard on defense. He lights up the crowd with the occasional dunk, but hasn’t yet had the chance to lead the franchise.
