Gordon is also about an average defender, and has a legitimate shot to make the team, as his shooting and defense are good enough along with the great veteran leadership he will provide. He is also the only established name on the roster, and the only who has had extensive NBA experience.
But with his experience comes a tarnished reputation. After signing a big money deal with the Detroit Pistons, Gordon’s play deteriorated. He struggled and was traded to the Charlotte Bobcats and eventually waived. Gordon’s star has fallen, and is a far cry from the rookie that won the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award (the only rookie to ever do so).
If he is able to rediscover his form, Gordon will be an intriguing player for the Warriors. Perhaps a return to a stable and successful franchise can help reignite Gordon’s career.
I see Gordon and Eddie as the two players with the best shot to make the team, and it seems as if play in the preseason games will determine which one of them will get the last roster spot. Of course, any of the other guys could play their minds out and snag the spot, but that is unlikely.
Anything is possible though, Dub Nation. Let me know who you think will make the team in the comments.
