Branon Rush – Terrence Howard/Lucious Lyon

I just really needed to get this one out of the way. This one doesn’t require a lot of explanation. Brandon Rush is basically the twin of Lucious Lyon played by Terrence Howard.

If you’ve ever seen Empireyou’ll see that the comparison really ends at the appearance. Though I suppose you could argue that Rush’s devastating ACL injury is similar to some of the things Lucious Lyon went through (no spoilers), it’s still a bit of a reach.

Shortly after his injury several years back, then-Warrior David Lee and Harrison Barnes wore custom t-shirts that featured Rush’s face alongside the words “Hustle & Flow” which is a reference to one of Howard’s most successful films of the same name.

I’m still not completely convinced that Rush isn’t actually the head of the Empire–getting buckets by day, dropping bars by night.
