Curry made the playoffs his own, showcasing his abilities and making All-NBA talents look human compared to himself.
As good as the Warriors are, it starts and ends with Curry. And he proved that he was worth the MVP on the biggest stage. Throughout the 21 games in last year’s postseason, he averaged 25.9 points, 5.8 assists, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.7 steals. He shot 45% from the field and 42% from deep. And he made big shot after big shot.
He capped it off by securing the Warriors first title in 40 years, defeating LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Although he didn’t win the Finals MVP, it was his play that ultimately lifted Golden State over the Cavs., willing the team to victory.
Curry became the first player to defeat all members of the All-NBA First Team (New Orleans’ Anthony Davis, Memphis’ Marc Gasol, Houston’s Harden, Cleveland’s James). He also became just the 11th player in NBA history to win the MVP and a title in the same season.
Curry is clearly on a mission to become of the greatest to step on a court and securing a title in a sport that loves winners is a big step in the right direction.
