All eyes are on the Warriors right now.

Aside from the exciting play of Curry and Thompson, everyone wants to see if they can do the impossible: can they break the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls’ record? The Warriors have 48 wins with 30 games left to play. If they can manage to go 25-5 (easy, right?), then the record is theirs.

But as they get closer and closer and the stakes get higher and higher, the pressure will build. The beauty of the Warriors and one of the biggest reasons that they’re so successful is that they can play and stay loose. During their 24 game winning streak to start the season, the Warriors tried to stay loose, but it’s impossible to not let a streak like that get to your head even a little bit. Once they lost, everyone was able to exhale and relax.

This is much bigger than a win streak. Breaking 72 wins would give this year’s Warriors the chance to call themselves the greatest basketball team to step on an NBA court. But Golden State does have bigger goals in mind. And they can’t risk their health or their rhythm chasing Michael Jordan‘s Bulls.

Winning 73+ games means nothing if they can’t secure a title.
