Here are some quotes after the Golden State Warriors matched NBA history with their 72nd win of the season.

Well, the Golden State Warriors have finally defeated the San Antonio Spurs on the road after numerous tries. However, that isn’t the story to come out of the Warriors big win on Sunday night. With the Warriors’ win over the Spurs, the Warriors have matched the 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls with 72 wins in a season.

If the Warriors can win their final game at home against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night, then the Warriors will reach 73 wins and finish with the best record in NBA history. The Warriors after the big win over the Spurs on Sunday night, were certainly celebratory as they should be and soaked in the moment, but the team’s MVP, Stephen Curry, told reporters after that their main focus is still on winning the NBA Championship.

With the way the Warriors have been playing over the last few wees letting leads slip and getting careless at times, it looked like they were ready for the playoffs to begin. However, they played a playoff-style game against the Spurs and were able to grind out a victory on the road against a team that they will likely have to play in the Western Conference Finals.

While some players mindset isn’t on finishing with the best record, Draymond Green was one of those players that was vocal about chasing it. After the win over the Spurs on Sunday, Green looked relieved and as he walked back to the locker room, he spoke to cameras and talked about how much it means to be able to go after the record and to match it.

If that wasn’t enough gold from Green on Sunday, he told Ethan Strauss that Michael Jordan told him to go and break the Bulls’ record.

"“Mike told me at All-Star, ‘Go win the record. Go get the record. If y’all don’t win this record, I’m going to be hot and I’m blaming you.”"

This is certainly a milestone win in the history of the league. While everyone is caught up right now in the moment, looking back it will be one of the most incredible things to go down. They still have one more game left and have to win to break the record, but with the focus of this team with big games on the line, they aren’t going to take it for granted.

Then the playoffs begin and a new side of the Warriors will emerge as they get ready to defend their championship.
