The Golden State Warriors defeated the Houston Rockets and now lead the series 3-1, but they did lose Stephen Curry to a knee injury.

A huge third quarter run helped lift the Golden State Warriors over the Houston Rockets in Game 4 of the first round, giving the Dubs a commanding 3-1 lead in the series. Though the final score showed the Warriors finished with a larger point total, there were no winners in this game.

Last night was Stephen Curry‘s triumphant return after suffering an ankle in the first half of Game 1. He sat out both Games 2 and 3, forced to come back after his team dropped the third game of the series. Shortly before the end of the first half, Curry retreated to contest a James Harden heave when he slipped and fell on a wet spot caused by Donatas Montejunas’ sweat. He turned over in pain, grabbed his knee, and limped to the locker room

Draymond Green would lift the team’s spirits and will them to a dominant victory, but, once again, Curry’s health was the center of attention.

The MVP tried to give it a go, testing out his knee during the halftime break. He warmed up, putting up some shots, but he was visibly frustrated. He walked to the bench and was surrounded by Head Coach Steve Kerr and the training staff. Also present was Green, his passionate and loyal big man. He leaned down and spoke to his point guard.

Curry’s love for his team and the game was clear as he covered his face when he walked back to the locker room.

The Warriors rallied together while facing their biggest obstacle thus far. They came out of the halftime break gunning, hitting eight three-pointers in the period to completely overwhelm the Rockets. They scored 41 points in the quarter and sucked the air out of the arena.

The Warriors clearly moved on, in the short term. Depending on what the MRI results reveal, Golden State may have to prepare to defend the title without him.

Kerr is never one to show his hand and, as the coach, he has to remain calm and get ready to tackle whatever obstacles appear in front of him. But when the franchise player suffers an injury, it’s emotional.

The world awaits Curry’s news.

In the meantime, watch Green own this reporter asking a terrible question.
