Comparing Golden State Warriors players to Pokémon
Shaun Livingston – Arbok
The Golden State Warriors’ backup point guard, Shaun Livingston, is most like Arbok, the serpentine Pokémon.
Shaun Livingston is one of the best backup point guards in the NBA, taller and longer than nearly every other player at his position.
Arbok, standing at over eleven feet tall, is much taller than your average snake. It is a poison-type Pokémon with a purple body with a large hood that surrounds its head. It is an evolved version of Ekans, bigger and stronger than it once was.
Livingston’s strength comes from using his height advantage over smaller guards and exploiting them in the post. He isolates them on one side of the court and spins on them until he can get the space to put them to sleep with his silky smooth jumper.
Much like “SDot”, Arbok likes to punish smaller Pokémon, hiding in the grass until it can overpower them with its size. He likes to coil itself around opponents, squeezing the life out of them. The two figures like to slither their way to the spots they like; using their length to win.
Throughout his career, Livingston has suffered some devastating injuries. Not only was his basketball career in jeopardy, but his lifestyle in general was threatened as he was on there verge of needed to have his leg amputated. Arbok can have any part of its body cut off (except for the head) and it will regrow in a few weeks.
Both of them are deadly and can’t be kept down for long.
