Andre Iguodala – Alakazam

The Golden State Warriors’ sixth man, Andre Iguodala, uses his mental abilities as well as Alakazam, a psychic-type Pokémon.

Andre Iguodala is one of the most intelligent players in the NBA.

He uses his mind better than anyone, up there with LeBron James and Chris Paul. A gifted athlete with the ability to handle and pass the ball, Iguodala’s best weapon is his head. He thinks ahead at all time, observing everything that’s going on before he figures out where and how to attack.

So it’s only right that Iguodala’s anime counterpart is Alakazam, a psychic-type Pokémon.

Alakazam can remember everything it has experienced just like how Iguodala claims to have an internal scouting report of every player in the NBA. Unlike the former All-Star, this Pokémon’s muscles are weak. Similar to Alakazam, the Finals MVP understands how to preserve his body, taking breaks and avoiding unnecessary contact in order to ensure that he can physically withstand the grind of the NBA season.

The yellow and brown Pokémon wields a silver spoon in each hand. These spoons enhance its psychic powers and, more importantly, lower the accuracy of its opponents attacks. Sound familiar? Iguodala has some of the quickest hands in the league, either swiping away or contesting every attempt that goes up against him. He definitely lowers the accuracy of anyone taking a shot against him.

Iguodala is incredibly smart so it makes complete sense that his Pokémon comparison is a dude whose neck can’t support its own head because it keeps growing.
