6 Random Thoughts About the NBA Free Agency Period

2. What are the Bulls doing?
The Chicago Bulls will be trotting out a 3 guard rotation of Rajon Rondo, Dwyane Wade, and Jimmy Butler this upcoming season. It seems as if the Bulls front office had a fantasy basketball type mindset when putting together their roster this summer, creating some huge questions that come to mind when you think about the Bulls and their team:
- How will these three ball dominant guards equally share the ball to the point where each guard can be their most effective?
- How will the Bulls space the floor?
- Can Jimmy Butler co-exist with two other alpha dog like personalities?
Don’t let Rajon Rondo’s stats from last season fool you, he isn’t good anymore. He’ll literally sit in the same spot for 18 seconds of the shot clock and pass it to whoever gives him the best chance of adding to his assists numbers. He can’t shoot, he’s a terrible free throw shooter, and he might be the worst defensive point guard in the league.

Last season reports came out of Chicago that Derrick Rose and Butler may have been butting heads due to a mini power struggle. Butler felt as if the Bulls were his team now and Rose should join the rest of the team and follow his lead. You have to wonder how he feels about Dwayne Wade joining Chicago. Is it still Butler’s team? Who will lead the Bulls in scoring? Are the Bulls even good enough to make the playoffs in the improved eastern conference?
Fred Hoiberg seems as if he’s a puppet coach for the organization, and didn’t display any ability to litigate problems in the Chicago locker room in his first season.
The general adage says that talent will win games no matter what, but all these questions will make Chicago a team we have to keep our eye on this coming season.
