5. Resigning James Michael McAdoo

The Golden State Warriors resigned James Michael McAdoo to a small contract in hopes that he can grow and contribute.

As I have previously stated the Warriors lost a significant number of their bench players this off season, but James Michael McAdoo was not one of them.

McAdoo shot an impressive .536 from the field last year and will likely see an increased role this upcoming season with the departure of some of the other Golden State Warriors. McAdoo is only 23 years old and the Warriors managed to bring him back for under a million dollars (one year contract). He will be entering his third season (all with Golden State) next year and it was good the Warriors kept some familiar faces from last year.

At 6’9, he gives the Warriors some much needed size. While he isn’t an elite protector, he can be a big body down low that changes shots and grabs some rebounds in a limited role off the bench. While McAdoo hasn’t done anything special quite yet, but head coach Steve Kerr and the team believe in him and they’ve done a pretty good job evaluating talent thus far.

He’s young with good size with a familiarity of the system and, most importantly, he came cheap.
