Harrison Barnes struggled in the 2016 NBA Finals.
Take everything you just read on the previous slide and forget it.
Playoff HB proved to be lightning in a bottle. It became a myth. The Playoff HB nickname became both a joke and a grasp for something real. Every time Barnes did anything, Twitter exploded mocking his contract situation, calling for everyone to max him.
I admit: I did the same.
Harrison Barnes is not the worst person who ever lived. He’s also probably not a star talent. He’s somewhere in between. But Warriors’ fans’ last memories of him will all be negative. This divorce could not have been uglier.
Barnes shot 5/32 in Golden State’s three game collapse in Games 5-7 in the NBA Finals. Most of those shots were wide open. The Cleveland Cavaliers let him have whatever he wanted, satisfied with letting him try to beat them rather than Curry or Thompson.

He couldn’t do anything right in those last three games. He was driving when he should have pulled up and pulling up when he should have driven. It was really hard to watch. He looked unplayable at times. He was missing practice shots.
Mentally, Barnes wasn’t there. He was in his own head, thinking instead of feeling. And it was very hard to watch. It changed his Golden State legacy; instead of having an average four years with some really good moments, Barnes will be remembered as one of the biggest reasons the Warriors could not cap off the greatest season of all-time with a championship.
