What super team can beat the Golden State Warriors?
Center – DeMarcus Cousins
The Golden State Warriors’ small ball lineup would have trouble containing the huge DeMarcus Cousins.
The age of the big man is over.
Trees like Shaquille O’Neal and David Robinson don’t patrol the paint anymore. It’s a different game. The need for raw power has been shelved in favor of skill.
Luckily, DeMarcus Cousins has both of those things.
This was a really tough choice actually because Karl-Anthony Towns is right there. He’s a special player that will probably rule the league in a few years, but I went with the guy with more experience. It’s important to note that Towns can defend Curry better than most big men.
But Cousins is a spectacular offensive player. He can space out and shoot a jumper or finish with his back to the basket. Or he can just overpower a hopeless defender and throw down a vicious two-handed slam.
“Boogie” can do it all when he wants to. The only thing stopping him from superstardom is the mental side of things, not talent. But he does well when playing with other great players like on Team USA. He averaged nearly 27 and 12 in a toxic situation in Sacramento.
Many teams try to go small against the Warriors, but, in this case, it might be better to go big. Cousins isn’t any old center, he’s the best one in the league. He would surely hurt the Warriors on the glass and he could really cause the defense to collapse with his low post presence.
