Let’s talk about Steph

Yeah, that tiny point guard they drafted two years ago who can never stay healthy. In eight months, he will sign a four-year, $44 million extension. You will think it is risky for a player who averaged less than 15 points a game and missed 40 of 66 games last year. You will worry about him rolling his ankle for the thousandth time, except next time, he may not come back the same and they’re stuck paying another draft bust tens of millions of dollars.

Nah b.

This little guy who came out of Davidson and you weren’t quite sure your team should’ve kept over Monta Ellis, this little guy will become the next face of the NBA.

That was not a joke.

He will drop 54 points in Madison Square Garden. He will lead his team to the playoffs for the first time since “We Believe” and bring a championship to Oakland for probably the first time in your lifetime.

In 2013, he will break the NBA record for 3-pointers in a season, then again in 2015, and then again in 2016. He will place himself atop shooting and scoring record lists longer than your next 10 grocery lists put together. He will win the MVP award — not once, but twice — the second time via the first unanimous vote in history.

He will revolutionize the game with his shooting prowess, with his incredible displays of brilliance, with wizardry and perfection that hasn’t been seen — ever. His countdown of “top 10 plays” after half a season would be better than that of most players for their entire career.

He will do this, and when you see it live, you will scream like a little girl because this guy is really this good, and he is on your team:

Not bad for $44 million, eh?
