Bob Myers will be a much better General Manager than Chris Mullin

In less than a year, the Warriors will promote their little-known assistant general manager named Bob Myers, a former sports agent who played at UCLA , to replace Larry Riley as general manager.

It will be a moved marked by little fanfare, but, like the Bogut trade, it will turn out to be one of the shrewdest moves in franchise history.

He will engineer a turnaround that will render the 2016 version of the team almost unrecognizable in comparison to 2012. He will seemingly pull all the right strings, including a pivotal one in the summer of 2013: signing Andre Iguodala.

Yep, the one-time heir apparent to Allen Iverson in Philly is now a member of the Warriors, and it took some voodoo magic by Myers to dump Andris Biedrins (bless his soul), Richard Jefferson and Brandon Rush to create enough salary cap space to sign Iguodala.

Iguodala won’t be the scorer he was with the 76ers, but he will play an incredibly pivotal role as an X-factor and great decision maker. He will come up huge in the 2015 NBA Finals, sliding up from the bench to the starting lineup and win Finals MVP.

Without Iguodala, the Warriors would have likely lost to the Cavaliers in back-to-back championships (yes, because LeBron James returned to Cleveland. Again, don’t ask).
