5. Change of scenery

For as talented as Cousins is, he is also very emotional.

He’s always at the top of the technical fouls list, competing with Green for who has most. He plays extremely hard and he clearly loves the game. That’s why he gets so frustrated.

The Sacramento Kings are a mess. From top to bottom, the organization is awful. They have no idea what they’re doing. And, as the franchise player, a lot of that falls on Cousins’ shoulders.

He’s been great in spite of the Kings’ incompetence. If he stays in Sacramento, he may never reach his full potential and will never be appreciated as the monster that he is. Kevin Garnett went through the same thing before he was traded to the Boston Celtics.

While on the surface, Cousins and Green together doesn’t seem like a great idea, it makes sense. These guys aren’t hostile or bad teammates. They’re intense competitors that want to win and get upset at anything less than excellence.

Cousins cannot remain stagnant. It would be beneficial as a player and a person for him to get out of such an unhealthy situation.. The best decision he can make for his career is to move. And there’s no better work environment in professional sports right now than the Golden State Warriors.
