3. Three-point shooting

The NBA is changing.

Some point guards are some of the more explosive and creative finishers around the rim while big men want to space out and take jumpers.

Cousins is one of those big men. He attempted 210 three-pointers last season and hit 70 of them (33 percent shooting). While he fell in love with the long range shot too much throughout the year, adding that weapon to his arsenal is really useful.

It creates incredible spacing and allows your perimeter players to have more room to operate inside of the three-point line. It gets shot blockers out of the paint because they have to honor the outside shot.

The Warriors have a very three-point friendly offense and encourage everyone who can hit them to take them.

Marreese Speights took 62 three-point attempts, 58 of which were catch-and-shoot attempts.

While Cousins wouldn’t take 210 of them in the Warriors’ offense, he’d definitely take more than 62. He shot 33 percent on catch-and-shoot threes this past season and that number can only go up with the great looks he’d get. It also helps that he’d have an opportunity to learn from some of the best three-point shooters in the league.

He seems to be having fun shooting alongside Thompson.
