Arrest in Michigan

While going around and hitting his fellow NBA brethren in the groin was all fun and games and the consequences exist purely on the court, there were real consequences for Green after the season and before he got ready to play for Team USA.

Green was arrested in East Lansing, Michigan after he got into an altercation with a Michigan State football player. Green was reportedly being taunted and that led to him slapping the individual, according to Evan Sernoffsky of The San Francisco Chronicle.

It’s easy to laugh at Green and have fun with the incidents he causes on the floor, but this was a situation that he needed to avoid. He’s certainly not the first one to run into an incident like this and he won’t be the last, but putting his hands on someone else is something that can’t happen.

It will be interesting to see what punishment comes of this for Green, but he did apologize to his teammates on Team USA and then went back to being the same Green that everyone knows after the situation.

At the same time it just added to the long list of Green incidents over the past few months.
