Comparing the Warriors to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music super team
By Owen Dillon
The leaders
Firstly, we have the leaders. Stephen Curry and Kanye West.
Both are simply better and more well known than pretty much everyone else in their respective fields. You can argue that LeBron James is better than Steph, and you can argue that Drake or
Kendrick Lamar is better than Kanye, but when you think of the best basketball players, you have to mention Steph, and when you think of the best rappers, you have to mention Kanye.
Not only are Steph and Kanye among the best at what they do, but their careers have taken very similar paths as well, in terms of public opinion. A young, talented star in the making, playing sidekick to one of the established stars of the industry. Soon, the man on the rise eclipses the established star, as their talent simply takes over.
The public, the media, the fans, and everyone initially loved these two. They could do no wrong. Then, it all changed. The more they spoke, the better at their craft they got, the more people started to turn on them. And maybe it was their faults.
Steph hoping that the Cavs’ locker room still smelled like Champagne was pretty damn arrogant. And Kanye, well, Kanye will say anything. And usually, it pisses people off. Both still have loyal fans, and lots of them. But, the haters keep building up, and they keep getting louder and louder. But that’s what makes the great ones great.
They were both the original members of their super teams. When Stephen Curry was drafted, no one on that Warriors team is on the current day team except for Steph. When G.O.O.D. Music was created, there was Kanye at the head, and no one else around.
