1989-1997

The Warriors simplified things for most of the 90’s.

They ditched the state silhouette for a cleaner look. In the NBA’s loudest era in terms of uniforms with wild designs (from pinstripes to horses), the Warriors went in the other direction, opting for just “Warriors” at an angle across the chest.

While they might have been the most simple design the Warriors have used, this was one of their most exciting eras of basketball. Their “Big Three” of Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond, and Chris Mullin (otherwise known as Run TMC) dazzled fans with their up-tempo, high-scoring style of play.

Under Don Nelson, Run TMC saw some success, making the playoffs four times in this uniform including upsetting the no. 2 seed San Antonio Spurs in the first round. This was some of the best and most exciting hoops the Bay Area has seen.

Players like Chris Webber and Latrell Sprewell saw great years in this uniform as well, but it was each member of Run TMC that wore a “C” on the upper right hand side in reference to their status as team captains.

They wore home whites and road blues with really bright and bold coloring on the letters and numbers. The shorts really brought this look home with yellow piping down the sides and across the bottom, color on the waistband, and the ball, state, and star logo used in previous uniforms were now on the left leg.

The Warriors are known for their creative and artistic looks, but this one makes the cut because of the quality of basketball and the overall clean look.
