The Golden State Warriors have had some great players wear the number 23. Who is the best?

For decades now in the NBA, the number 23 has been a number of prestige.

Reserved for the greats or those that aspire to emulate greatness, it has meant a little more than other numbers. Obviously Michael Jordan made it the symbol that it has become. LeBron James continued that legacy.

While the Warriors haven’t had players of that caliber wear the number, they’ve had some really fantastic ones rock it. I know what you’re thinking, but, no, Al Thornton did not quite make the cut for this list.

Eleven players in franchise history have worn the number, starting in 1967. For this list, there are just four players who are up for the title of “best no. 23 in franchise history.” While choosing 23 seems like an arbitrary number to try to select, but the fact that there’s no obvious answer (like who the best no. 30 is) makes this a fun one to tackle.

It’s not necessarily a no brainer. Each player has a case. The decision to name the best to wear the number will come down to a combination of talent, success, and overall impact on the franchise.

Without further ado, here are the candidates.
